Soil Safe’s Metro12 Facility furthers its pursuit for environmental excellence
Soil Safe’s Metro12 Facility in Carteret, NJ participates in NJDEP’s coveted Environmental Stewardship Initiative. During their May 2018 inspection, NJDEP’s inspector verified Soil Safe’s qualifications and performance in meeting the goals of this voluntary program.
Key qualifiers for Metro12 include Water Use Reduction (to reduce and reuse water for dust suppression and truck tire washing) and Energy Use Reduction (to reduce the facility’s carbon footprint).
Soil Safe is proud to participate in this important initiative and find new ways to enhance all aspects of its Class B recycling operations.

“The Environmental Stewardship Initiative is a recognition program developed by Compliance & Enforcement for use by all NJDEP programs that conduct compliance assurance inspections.
