Facility Description
Our Thermal Desorption facility is located in Adelanto, California. The facility has served the Southern California market since 1992, and was acquired by Soil Safe in 2005. The facility has the largest volume thermal treatment capacity in California and is the only such facility in Southern California. Located in the Mojave Desert just 70 miles from downtown Los Angeles, this location falls under the jurisdiction of the Mojave Desert AQMD, thus affording all of our customers greatly minimized Rule 1166 issues. The facility provides our customers the least amount of environmental risk while effectively treating all organic soil contaminants using several innovative design features including
- 37,500 square foot warehouse for inside storage of unprocessed soil thus eliminating rainwater contact and run-off
- Floor construction system within the facility composed of two (2) geosynthetic liners and a one (1) foot thick concrete pad
- Leachate collection system for identifying any potential subsurface leaks
- Custom engineered thermal unit proven effective at both organic contaminant removal and destruction with minimal impact on greenhouse gas emissions
